Brzustowicz's K9 Retreat Grooming & Doggy Day Care is owned by Zac & Whitney Brzustowicz. Whitney was raised around dogs from the time she was born, her family raised and showed Golden Retreivers in AKC conformation events. She is a second generation groomer who learned the art of grooming from her parents. At a very young age she was grooming show dogs as well as her parents grooming clients, she really loved working on her stuffed animals as well to really fine tune her talent. 

She started grooming dogs on her own at 13 years old and by the time she reached 16 she worked for a professional handler traveling the country showing in AKC conformation events handling the top Rottweilers and French Bulldogs in the country, attending shows like Westminster. She also has always had a passion for horses taking her first lesson at just 3 years old, Zac and her still own horses and enjoy them with their daughter Talia. Zac and Whitney met as teenagers and always loved doing things together with their dogs like attending the Kalamazoo Humane Society Dog Walkathon. Zac had worked at a local pet store as well as in a boarding kennel. After their engagment they decided to follow their passion of dogs and open a grooming salon. In 2015 Zac & Whitney brought their buiness to the Mattawan community with the hopes that someday they would expand into the big dreams they had conjured up.

On June 8th of 2021 we bought our building and soon there after we opened our expanded grooming shop along with our new doggy day care. We are so fourtinute to be able to share our love for dogs with the mattawan community, we are very excited to continue growing and giving dog lovers a place for their fur babies to get the love, care and enrichment they deserve. 

When Zac and Whitney are not working they enjoy raising and showing their Rottweilers as well as going on trail rides with their daughter Talia and two horse's Red and Mulligan. Every fall they love to enjoy time on Mackinac Island where they got married.
